What will your Training Journey look like with us?

Start with your Intake Assessment & Discovery Session

Your Intake Assessment & Discovery Session are your starting point with Herdy Nerdy Dog Training. We're all about planning ahead and setting you and your dog up for success- in order to make that happen, we need to get to know you!

Initially, you will complete an in-depth online Assessment form. This form runs through everything from who's involved in your dogs life, what they eat, where they sleep and any medication conditions they have through to what behaviours you need help with. This assessment gives us a good general snapshot of your dogs life prior to your Discovery Session so that we can come armed with resources, education and support for your exact situation.

Once we receive your Assessment, you can book in a Discovery Session. This session runs for 60-90 minutes and operates as a Virtual Session- We do not offer this session in person as it becomes far too distracting and can stress some dogs! The goal of this session is to provide you with Education around what's been happening and why it might be happening and to create a plan that works with your available time, goals, needs and specific situation.

After completing this session you will receive:

Personalised Training Plan with all your new skills - complete with easy to follow instructions and troubleshooting!
An Action Plan to help you set goals, plan enrichment & exercise, track progress and keep everyone on the same page
Helpful Activity sheets to help you figure out what rewards your dog likes, how to maximise enrichment and more

Intensive Jump Start Programs

Feeling overwhelmed? Lacking time to manage ongoing training? Struggling to get going? Worried about handling your Reactive dog? Then, Jump Start Training might be for you! Our Intensive Jump Start Training Program comes in 5, 8 and 10 week Packages.

A Trainer will come to your home and work with your dog in 45-60 minute sessions each week and can help work through a variety of issues including Reactivity, Loose Lead Walking, Recall, Prey Drive, Destructive Behaviours and more.

This program offers an ethical alternative to Board and Train. Unlike Board and Train, our program is :

Low Stress and Fear Free
Your Dog stays home with you
We get the ball rolling and then provide you with simple homework to keep it rolling.

Jump Start Training is designed to support you to get going on your training goals, get the foundations solid and then teach you how to keep it going and manage the dog yourself. Once you have completed your package, you have the option to book another and keep going (for as long as you like!) , graduate to Walkies Sessions to keep up the consistency or switch to Private Sessions as you need them! Available in select regions surrounding Pakenham, Cranbourne and Drouin.

Private Training Sessions

We offer a variety of different Private Training options including :

In-Home Private Sessions
Virtual Private Sessions available Worldwide (Except USA)
Private Sessions at any of our locations

In Home Private Sessions are available in Pakenham, Cranbourne, Drouin & Surrounds. Sessions outside of this zone can be sometimes be organised with additional travel fees. These sessions run on Saturday afternoons and all day Sundays. Each session runs for 45-60 minutes and can be used to address a wide range of issues. These sessions may not be suitable for Human Aggression or Territorial Aggression cases.

Private Sessions: These can be organised at any of our multiple locations in Pakenham, Cranbourne or Drouin. These sessions are held in public parks or privately hired fields and can be used to address a wide range of issues including Dog & Human Reactivity, Recall, Loose Lead Walking and General Manners.

Virtual Private Sessions can be booked by anyone, worldwide (except the USA). These sessions run for 30-45 minutes and can be used to address a wider variety of issues and are especially helpful for dogs who do not travel well or who perhaps do not like strangers in their home.

All of these sessions run for 45-60 minutes (except Virtual Sessions) and can be booked online once you have completed a Discovery Session.
