Unleash Confidence
Is your Border Collie herding you round the bend?
Cattle dog nipping at your last nerve?
Kelpie just can't seem to cool it?
Herdy Nerdy Dog Training was founded in 2019 on the belief that
our Herding Dogs need their own unique approach to their amazing abilities and brains! They each have their own unique traits and mannerisms, and therefore require their own unique and specialised training. That’s where we come in!
Whether it’s for Life Skills, General Manners or more complex behavioural issues, our trainers are focused on not only training your pet, but teaching you how to effectively communicate with them. This method of training is full of fun techniques that will give you and your pet a happier life together.
Why Work with Us?
Rather than focusing on the behaviours happening on the surface, we look deeper. It's about more than just stopping or fixing a behaviour- it's about finding the Why behind the behaviour so that we can make lasting changes that help your dog feel better, communicate better and handle their world better. Rather than jumping straight into Training Plans, Veterinary Behaviour or even medications, we assess dogs against the 5 Domains to ensure that their needs as captive animal are being met first and foremost. This means a deep dive into their day, their sleeping habits, their diet, their social interactions and their general mental state. Once we have started meeting our dogs needs, the behaviours left are the ones that they truly need our help and guidance with. Thsi means smaller training times, quicker results and a better overall welfare state for our dogs!
By utilising Rewards Based, Force Free Training in conjunction with Vets, Vet Behaviourists, Animal Physiotherapists and more we can help you with....

What Does Working With Us Look like?
First, you will complete a Discovery Session. This is a one-off, 1.5 hour Education and Assesment Session. Alongside a questionnaire you will submit, we will take a deep dive into your dogs world and see what changes need to be made, what training needs to be done and create a plan for how we will do that!
Once your Discovery Session has been completed, a training plan will be created just for you that will take into account your dogs needs, your needs, your lifestyle and your training goals. We will work together as little or as often as you need or want, however initially Weekly or Fortnightly contact will be recommended.
DO YOU OFFER GROUP TRAINING?
At this time, no.
DO YOU OFFER IN HOME SERVICES OR WALK AND TRAIN?
We no longer offer these services as we would need to raise prices for this to be profitable. We wish to keep training available and affordable and so have chosen to move to a Remote Only or a Come-To-Us model.
AFTERPAY IS AVAILABLE ON ALL TRAINING PACKAGES OVER $150
